Young victims of deadly hammer attack in Sunset Park to be released from hospital

The children attacked in the September hammer attack in Sunset Park have recovered and will be released from the hospital this week, according to the family's GoFundMe page.
According to police, Liyong Ye was arrested and charged for fatally hitting mother Zhao Zhao, 43, in the head and striking her 5-year-old son, David, and 3-year-old daughter, Sophia. Liyong Ye was a roommate of the family.
The mother was brought to the hospital but did not survive. Her two children suffered critical injuries, but have recovered and will be released from the hospital.
The GoFundMe page was able to cover two months of hospital bills following the attack.
If convicted, Ye will face 25 years to life in prison.
