A woman from Brooklyn who police say was gunned down by her estranged husband was laid to rest Wednesday.

Family and friends gathered to say their final goodbyes to a woman they say should still be here today. Wake services were held in Sunset Park Tuesday night for Tiffany Ojeda Hill, a Marine Corps veteran, sister, daughter and mother.

Police tell New 12 she was killed in Washington state last month by her estranged husband Keland Hill while sitting in her car.

Police say he had repeatedly violated restraining orders and was deemed an extreme risk to his wife.

Hill's family hopes her death brings awareness to domestic violence and the need to protect victims.

"Change the laws. If they really crying for help at that moment-my daughter was crying for help. She did everything she needed to do, you know, and maybe the other first one or two times fine - but this time it was like that's it, it's enough, she said it was enough," says Aurea Conde, Hill's mother.

Hill was laid to rest at Calverton National Cemetery on Long Island.
