The NYPD has released a sketch of a man believed to be behind a racially charged attack, hours after a call for action from local leaders.

The NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the incident as a possible hate crime.

Officials released a sketch overnight of the man they’re now searching for. He’s believed to be in his 30s. The sketch was drawn based off a witness description, police say.

Video from a witness shows the aftermath of the Friday attack and shows the victim, Ann Marie Washington, talking to police. The NYPD tells News 12 she was stabbed three times and witnesses say the suspect yelled racist and misogynistic things.

Washington's children say she had to undergo emergency surgery over the weekend for her injuries.

Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and other local leaders are calling on police and the MTA to step up their investigation and efforts to track down the suspect.

Adams also announced Monday that the Anti-Defamation League has put up a reward of $5,000 for information leading to an arrest.
