Police are looking for suspects in the fatal Bedford-Stuyvesant shooting of a 14-year-old just a short walk from his home.
Police officers found Jamel "Sunny" Carter with multiple gunshots to his torso in the lobby of the Thompkins Houses after 7 p.m. Tuesday. The teen lived blocks away on Myrtle Avenue. EMS rushed Carter to Woodhull Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities would not say whether they have witnesses to the crime.
Neighbors say there have been several shootings in the area. Activists are calling on lawmakers and police to turn Bed-Stuy around.
