Nineteen people suffered injuries Wednesday in two accidents involving city buses at a Crown Heights intersection.
According to police, one bus ran into another one around 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of Empire Boulevard and New York Avenue. The bus then took out a light pole and traffic light before coming to rest in front of a police precinct.
Seventeen passengers and the bus driver were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Police say shortly after the first accident, another bus rear-ended a Volvo at the same intersection. While the Volvo driver told News 12 Brooklyn he was not injured, he was later taken to a hospital by ambulance.
The MTA continues to investigate the causes of the crashes.
