Borough President Eric Adams honored three people Monday for stepping in and saving a man's life after he was stabbed six weeks ago.
Hershi Pfeiffer ran out into the street, covered in blood, after he was allegedly stabbed by one of his workers in Brooklyn Heights. Jenelle Rivera, an off-duty EMT, performed first aid on Pfeiffer to stop the bleeding. Construction manager Marcell Alberti called 911 and chased the suspect who allegedly stabbed Pfeiffer. At Lutheran Medical Center, Dr. Enrico Ascher performed surgery on Pfeiffer.
Adams declared Rivera, Alberti and Ascher Heroes of the Month in Brooklyn for their roles in saving Pfeiffer.
Pfeiffer was unable to speak at the ceremony because of injuries to his neck during the attack. His family says he is very thankful.
