85-year-old woman injured in assault and attempted robbery in Williamsburg

The NYPD is asking for the public's assistance in identifying an individual wanted in connection with an attempted robbery in Williamsburg on Sept. 5.

Police say an 85-year-old woman was approached by an unidentified man in front of 340 Graham Ave at 5:45 a.m., who attempted to forcibly take a cart from her.

During the incident, the woman suffered multiple lacerations to both legs. The man also placed his hands around her neck, causing discomfort.

Police say the suspect ran off in an unknown direction.

EMS took the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst in stable condition.
