According to AAA, Thursday and Friday are expected to be the busiest travel days on the road.
AAA recommends leaving in the morning, as the holiday travel rush is expected to start at 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.
Before heading on the road, it’s important to fill up your gas tanks. The average price of gas in New York City is down 46 cents from this time last year.
There will be no service on the 2 train between the Bronx and Manhattan. A free shuttle bus will be running as an alternative. All buses will be on a weekend schedule on Monday.
TSA is also expecting an intense travel rush as domestic and international flights are also averaging cheaper prices this year. Domestic flights are 2% cheaper than last year and international flights are 8% cheaper.
