If you are
traveling this holiday weekend expect to hit some traffic.
According
to AAA, a record 42 million people nationwide will take a road trip of 50 miles
or longer.
Despite
high gas prices, drivers are still hitting the roads. In Bohemia, gas prices
were $4.79 a gallon for regular gas. On average the price for a gallon of gas
nationwide is $4.90 – the highest price on July 4 in U.S. history. Last year,
gas prices were $1.70 less per gallon.
Traffic experts warn drivers
that travel times could double on Thursday and Friday evening.
If you plan to drive, experts recommend starting early or late in the day.
