Adults with Parkinson's are trying to beat the disease one punch at a time in DUMBO.
The program is being offered at Gleason's Gym.
Alex Montaldo, who has been running the program for two years, says he trains and molds the brave fighters to take their bout with Parkinson's into the ring and roll with the punches.
Gleason's Gym owner Bruce Silverglade says what he's seen out of the group is nothing short of miraculous.
"I have seen an improvement with everyone that's come in here mentally. Basically the people that come in are depressed, they feel terrible that they have this affliction, they think that their life is over, that there's nothing further they can do. And they come in to Gleason's Gym and find out that's completely not the case," he says.
