An affordable housing building for seniors was reopened Thursday in Williamsburg.
The residence on Roebling Street was built in 1916 and was acquired in the 1980s by the nonprofit housing organization, Los Sures. The organization turned the building into affordable housing for seniors and the disabled.
Last year, tenants were relocated for short periods of time while Los Sures renovated the entire building with federal aid. The organization Groundswell also helped, with members painting inspiring murals on the building's walls.
Los Sures also plans on building a new affordable housing complex in Bushwick soon.
