A young rapper from Flatbush is using his musical talent to send an important message to his community.
Eleven-year-old Amor Arteaga, whose stage name is "Lil Man," says he wants his rhymes to help convince others to put their guns down.
Arteaga questions the shootings happening throughout the borough in his latest song, "What's Going On?" He says he decided to use his talent for good after seeing so many people in his community get shot or killed.
Local leaders and community activists are taking notice of Arteaga's powerful message and have given him awards to recognize his commitment to peace.
In order to spread his message to his peers, Arteaga is planning a "Stop the Violence" tour. Arteaga says his goal is to visit as many schools in the borough as he can to encourage young people join his peace movement.
