Community members in Coney Island held a special anti-violence event for children Friday night.

The event was held at the Coney Island Cathedral and included musical performances, plays and special giveaways to keep children engaged and informed. Organizers say it is never too early to teach children about the dangers of violence.

The night also featured motivational speakers, religious sermons and messages from the NYPD.
