A local artist and some young helpers are touching up a mural honoring two fallen NYPD officers in Canarsie.
Kenny Altidor had originally painted the mural four years ago as a tribute to officers Cecil Frank Sledge and Raymond Cannon.
The 69th Precinct recently asked Altidor to spruce it up, he says.
Altidor accepted the project and brought on youth volunteers from a community development organization.
The precinct's Deputy Inspector Norman Grandstaff says the project can help build a relationship between young people and police officers.
