The Barclays Center will officially open its doors tomorrow during a ribbon cutting ceremony.
After initial opposition in the surrounding Flatbush and Atlantic avenue community in regards to building a new arena, most Brooklyn residents said they were excited about the prospect of bringing professional sports and other events back to the borough.
"A lot of people didn't think [the center] was going be good for downtown Brooklyn, but everything down here is changing and changing for the better," said Devon Chin, of Fort Greene.
Jay-Z will be the Barclays Center's first performance next Friday.
