It's a very cold Tuesday across Long Island. Temperatures are close to freezing, but it's windy so wind chills are in the low- to mid-20s this morning. Long Island is only getting a small taste of this massive cold snap. Wind chills are just as cold this morning as far south as North Florida in Jacksonville. Snow flurries are being reported this morning in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, the earliest on record! This evening will be just as cold as this morning. Temperatures will feel like the 20s.
The rest of the week is cooler than normal, but not bitterly cold. Highs are near 50 degrees with morning lows generally in the 30s. Typical afternoon highs are in the mid-50s this time of the year, but that is not in sight anytime soon.
