Police say a Bronx man was killed when two personal watercraft collided in the Hutchinson River Monday.
According to authorities, 37-year-old Nelson Aguilar was driving one of the watercraft with his 14-year-old daughter aboard when it crashed into another watercraft holding two teenage girls. All three teens were injured in the crash, but are in stable condition.
Local officials and residents say the waters off the Bronx, like the Hutchinson River and the Eastchester Bay, need to be regulated and supervised, despite the mild waves.
Neighbors say Aguilar, who lived in the condos near the marina, was out enjoying the last days of summer with his daughter.
