Imagine riding a scooter and being able to charge your electronics at the same time. That could soon be a reality thanks to a group of young Bronx students.
The idea for the energy scooter started at P.S. 107 about three years ago when Dr. Karen Kaun showed her class a soccer ball that generates electricity.
The students decided to come up with their own invention, which lead to a scooter that generates energy, stores it and even recharges smartphones. The faster you go, the faster it charges.
The 11- to 13-year-old girls are now part-owners of the company Makeosity, which is working to put the scooter on the market.
