City officials and advocates are trying to make Brooklyn easier to get around for people with disabilities with a new information expo.
Access to Independence Day is a transportation expo about educating people with disabilities about the different options they have to get around the city.
For example, wheelchair-users are able to try out vehicles like TLC's Green Taxi. The Department of Transportation also unveiled new accessible parking signs. The updated signs are easier to read and no longer have the term "handicapped."
The Department of Transportation says the new accessible parking signs and logo should be up by the end of the year.
