Brooklyn residents were busy Friday preparing for the season's first bout of snow.

At the Lowe's Home Improvement store in Gowanus, shovels, ground salt and ice melt were flying off the shelves. One worker said everything on the floor was all they had left for some necessities.

Some people said they weren't taking any chances with the weather, while others said they were just going to go with the flow.
