A Brooklyn woman is fighting to free her dad who was detained two months ago in Bangladesh.
Mohammed Jubair, a Flatbush businessman, was arrested two months ago in Bangladesh over accusations that he was a war criminal. He is accused of participating in the Bangladeshi Liberation War in 1971.
Jubair's family says it's impossible because he was only 13 at the time. Jubair's daughter says she is trying to be strong for her dad.
"The best thing to do is to remain positive and to like fight as much as I can to get him out," says Monira Monir, of Flatlands.
The U.S. Embassy was able to finally see Jubair, and says he seems mentally strong.
Kevin James, an attorney familiar with international issues, say the U.S. has a good relationship with Bangladesh, but the outcome of the case is uncertain.
A U.S. Department of State official says they working to provide all appropriate consular assistance. Jubair's family fears the investigation could take a year or longer.
Monir has another court date on the matter on March 20.
