The city has begun testing of a machine it says will easily fill and patch potholes all across the city.
The Python Patcher will be operated by one man and travel from pothole to pothole, filling each one in only seven to 10 minutes.
Last year, the city filled a record 418,000 potholes. This year, the Department of Transportation says the mild winter allowed it to get to the potholes earlier. The department expects to repave 1,000 lane miles of road across all five boroughs this year.
