Con Edison is offering advice to New Yorkers on how to lower their energy bill this winter season.

For those who receive government assistance benefits like S.N.A.P. or EBT, they may be eligible for the Energy Affordability Program. All New Yorkers will have to do is sign up and provide proof that they are enrolled in government assistance benefits.

If approved, a discount of as much as $158 off the monthly bill can be applied.

There are other programs Con Edison offers for those not on government assistance benefits, like their Level Payment Plan. This spreads monthly payments evenly throughout the year so New Yorkers can avoid any seasonal spikes in the summer or winter.
