Residents near Brighton 15th Street say they are disappointed that local officials have closed off access to their local beach for the entire 2015 summer season.

An ongoing construction project on the beach's boardwalk was not finalized by Memorial Day weekend. The Parks Department has put up a chain-link fence to block people from getting to a stretch of beach because they say EMS vehicles cannot get through in case of an emergency.

The Coney Island Avenue entrance to the beach will remain accessible.
