A Crown Heights community paused to remember a woman who was fatally shot Wednesday.
The NYPD released surveillance video Friday of a woman who is wanted in connection to the homicide on Franklin Avenue.
Delia Berry, the mother of 42-year-old victim Delia Johnson, told News 12 Friday prior to joining the vigil that she believes she knows who the killer was.
"Fed her, clothed her, she stayed in my house when they were young. So I don’t understand. What could have made you that angry? All you had to do was call me. My number is the same number," Berry said.
Police describe the suspect in the shooting as a dark-skinned female in her mid-20s. They say the woman has a heavy build, long blonde hair and was last seen wearing a black long-sleeved shirt with black tights, a silver belt around her waist and white sneakers.
Surveillance video appears to show the suspect walk between cars with her hand behind her back, drawing the gun and pointing it directly at Johnson’s head.
Police say she fled the scene in a white-colored vehicle after the incident.
Johnson's family is calling this simply an execution as police continue to search for that shooter.
Mourners at the vigil walked side by side together, before releasing balloons and lighting candles. They remembered Johnson as the life of the party, someone who lived life to the fullest with just such a kind heart.
Meantime, Berry said she is devastated for her loss and expressed sympathy for the suspected shooter.
"Very angry, and no, young lady, I don’t hate you. I’m going to continue to pray for you and your family," Berry said.
Johnson's family told News 12 that she also leaves behind a 17-year-old daughter.
