Nurses and housekeepers at Crown Heights' Marcus Garvey Nursing Home say management shortchanged them as they fattened their own pockets.An employee called News 12 Brooklyn after about 50 workers protested Monday in the lobby, leaving patients to fend for themselves. According to the tipster, the employees were upset because their benefits were terminated. Several of the protesters were reportedly fired, but police say a union delegate arrived and smoothed over the situation. Most of the nurses and housekeepers were back on the job after the protest.Management at the home refused to comment on the picket. Marcus Garvey Nursing Home is currently facing a state lawsuit over excessive salaries.
