Doctors and staff at Woodhull Medical Center were honored today for their valiant attempts to save the life of FDNY Lt. Richard Nappi.
Nappi became overheated while fighting a warehouse fire on April 16.
Paramedics, doctors and nurses spent more than a half-hour trying to revive him, but were unsuccessful.
Despite Nappi's death, FDNY Deputy Asst. Chief James Leonard honored the doctors and staff with a plaque, saying they did everything possible and worked seamlessly to try and save his life.
