After rain ended across Long Island by around 10:30 a.m., it was a decent mid-November afternoon with temperatures still slightly below average in the mid to upper 40s across much of Nassau and Suffolk Counties. The normal average high is down to 52 degrees now.
Through this evening, have a winter coat! It will stay dry, but temperatures will be dropping into the 30s. Clouds will increase overnight.
Plan on a cold feeling start to Thursday morning, but thankfully the wind stays pretty light.
Overall, Thursday will be a nice day with varying amounts of clouds and breaks of sunshine. Highs will mostly stay in the upper 40s again.
A slight warmup begins on Friday as high temperatures return to the 50s. Most of Friday will be dry, but a quick round of rain showers will arrive late Friday night towards midnight and linger through mid-morning on Saturday.
Saturday afternoon through the rest of the weekend will be nice!
THANKSGIVING TRAVEL WEATHER NEXT WEEK:
Monday will be great, but we are watching the chance for a period of steady moderate rain to move in on Tuesday afternoon and possibly linger through the first part of Wednesday. Please keep this in mind if you are traveling.

TONIGHT: A partly cloudy sky gives way to increasing clouds overnight. Have a winter coat! Temperatures are dropping into and through the 30s this evening. Lows near 34 degrees with areas of patchy frost into the early morning hours.
THURSDAY: Cold start with early morning temperatures in the 30s. Partly sunny with high temperatures around 49 degrees. Lows near 35 degrees. Coldest temperatures will occur close to midnight. Then, temperatures will increase several degrees along with an increase in cloud coverage into Friday morning.
FRIDAY: Mostly cloudy with a spotty shower chance, but most of the day is dry. Highs around 55 degrees. Lows near 41 degrees with an increasing chance for rain showers towards and after midnight.
SATURDAY: EARLY SHOWERS — Scattered rain showers through mid-morning. The afternoon is expected to be drier with some breaks in the clouds developing. Highs around 53 degrees. Lows near 38 degrees.
SUNDAY: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy. Highs around 52 degrees. Lows near 41 degrees.
MONDAY: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy. Highs near 56 degrees. Lows near 41 degrees.
TUESDAY: RAIN DEVELOPS -- Increasing clouds. A period of steady rain is likely to develop in the afternoon and evening and last into early Wednesday. Keep this in mind if you are traveling during this time. Rain may be moderate at times. Highs around 54 degrees. Lows near 47 degrees.
WEDNESDAY: RAIN TAPERS OFF — Rain showers are likely to linger through at least the early morning. The afternoon is expected to be drier at this time. Highs around 57 degrees. Lows near 46 degrees.
THURSDAY: THANKSGIVING — Mostly sunny to partly cloudy. Highs around 52 degrees. Lows near 35 degrees.
