A Suffolk parent tells News 12 her toddler was also a victim of abuse at Tutor Time child care and learning center in Lindenhurst.

The parent, who asked we conceal her identity and refer to her as Jennifer, says she saw an employee throw her son onto his cot through the daycare’s live video feed.

"I called Suffolk police, I called CPS," said Jennifer. "He no longer goes there anymore. I just don't feel safe."

News 12 first told you Saturday when Suffolk police arrested 26-year-old Megan Marchena for allegedly pushing an 18-month-old's face into a cot at the daycare.

Police say the toddler had to be brought to the hospital to get stitches.

Marchena and the daycare’s program director are now on administrative leave.

Jennifer says she saw Marchena throw her toddler through the live video feed because her son got up during nap time.

"She grabbed him when he ran off his cot, and carried him back and literally threw him down,” said Jennifer. "I asked Tutor Time to watch it back. They assured me that they would do everything left, right, up, down to handle this, and they didn't."

As News 12 previously reported, the New York State Office of Children and Family Services issued multiple violations to Tutor Time in Lindenhurst.

Seven violations were found during inspections from October 2022 to July 2024, ranging from staff not using acceptable techniques for problem solving to walls having chipped paint.

Two claims were substantiated, two unsubstantiated, two were found during unannounced visits and one during an application for renewal.

In a statement to News 12 about the new claims, Tutor Time said in a statement:

“We value the partnership we have with our families and take all concerns brought to us very seriously. Tutor Time has an open-door policy and welcomes parent feedback at any time. Our District Manager has been onsite working with families directly. Any additional concerns brought to us are being thoroughly reviewed, and we will continue to take appropriate action as warranted.”

"They needed to know that there are other families that can speak up and say something,” said Jennifer.

News 12 contacted Marchena’s attorney for a comment about the new allegation, but have yet to hear back.

Marchena pleaded not guilty to charges of assault and endangering the welfare of a child over the weekend.

If you believe your child was a victim, call the Suffolk Police Special Victims Section at 631-852-6167.
