A Brooklyn family gave out hot meals to the less fortunate this Thanksgiving Day in Crown Heights.
It has been a tradition for the Cumberbatch family to get together, cook food and bring it to a Crown Heights corner.
The tradition started with Larry Cumberbatch, who wanted to do the good deed to bring his sons together. He worked at the Port Authroity and saw the great need for the homeless. He passed away in 2001.
About 80 people lined up Thursday morning for the traditional Thanksgiving meal. Sneakers and clothing were also given out to those in need.
Other people in the community came out to volunteer with the Cumberbatch family, and say it is the highlight of their day every year.
Later in the day, the family headed to a school in Brownsville to feed 200 families.
