A vigil was held at Benson Playground for a young girl who was fatally struck by an armored truck last week.
Sama Ali, 7, was crossing the street on her scooter when and armored truck hit her at the intersection of Bay 23rd Street and Bath Avenue in Bensonhurst. Police say the driver remained at the scene, but the investigation is ongoing.
Ali's mother, Doaa Yahia, says her daughter liked to play with dolls, nail polish, makeup and lipstick.
Sama's brother, Mahmoud Ali, says that his sister was "exactly like an angel."
"She never knew how to get mad at anyone," Mahmoud says. "If you did anything bad, next minute she would forgive you and play."
Flowers, candles and teddy bears are now at a light post at the intersection where Sama was killed.
Residents in the community are calling for speed bumps and traffic camera to ensure another accident doesn't occur.
