At least 10 people have been hospitalized in a multistate listeria outbreak that has been linked to contaminated deli meats.

There have been cases in New York, Florida and Massachusetts. One death has been reported in Florida.

Officials believe Italian-style meats like salami, prosciutto and mortadella may be to blame for the possible listeria outbreak, but they have not yet identified a specific product. They say people reported purchasing both prepackaged deli meats and meats that were sliced at deli counters. An investigation into the outbreak is ongoing,

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is urging people to avoid eating deli meats unless they're thoroughly heated.
