The holiday season is on its way, and many retailers have already started their annual shopping frenzies.
Personal finance expert Vera Gibbons is offering some tips to prepare for the retail rush.
Residents shopping for the hottest toys of the season, such as ones on Amazon's best toy list, are recommended to buy them as soon as possible, since they're likely to sell out quick.
For the tech-savvy person in your life, Gibbons suggests heading out with the massive crowds on Black Friday.
According to Kipplinger's Personal Finance magazine, Black Friday is the best day to scoop up deals on items such as televisions, tablets, laptop computers, video games, cookware and small appliances.
As for Cyber Monday, Gibbons says it's the best day to snag apparel.
She says there tends to be 45 percent more clothing deals on Cyber Monday, with many stores offering store-wide savings.
Consumers who do their shopping online may want to get an even earlier start than Black Friday.
A survey conducted by Adobe predicts that overall online prices will be at their lowest on Thanksgiving Day.
