One person was hurt when flames broke out inside a Coney Island apartment building.
According to investigators, the fire started inside the compactor room of 2955 West 29th St. at around 6:30 a.m., and spread through the shaft.
The blaze caused smoke to fill the building, with residents reporting smoke in at least 20 apartments.
The injured person was taken to Coney Island Hospital and treated for smoke inhalation.
The Department of Buildings will be evaluating the premises to make sure that it's safe for the tenants.
