Firefighters responding to a call about flooding on Union Street found the bodies of two women in an apartment Friday, sources tell News 12.
Sources say firefighters were called to a building on Union Street about flooding and were able to trace it to an adjacent building. They say the firefighters started in the basement and then worked their way up to the second floor, where they found the bodies of two elderly women who were twins.
It's unclear how or when the women died, but police tell News 12 that that the bodies were likely there for some time.
Neighbors say one woman had fallen in recent months and was being cared for by the other. They say the two kept to themselves.
The medical examiner is now trying to determine how and when the twins died.
