Fireworks safety remains a hot topic as the Fourth of July inches closer.
Dr. Ernest Patti says this time of year brings about a lot of injuries involving children and some parents who set off fireworks illegally.
He says losing a finger or an eye happens often, and children's hair has been lit on fire from sparklers, which are also illegal.
Dr. Patti says the best thing to do is to use common sense and steer clear of fireworks that are being set off illegally in the neighborhood.
