Former NFL player Mike Jones credits a News 12 Connecticut story with helping him “get back on track.”
In May, the 55-year-old was the subject of a story detailing how the star athlete overcame his struggle with drugs.
Jones now says that the story gave him a big boost and he’ll soon be working again thanks in part to the exposure.
"You know, I've been getting job offers and speaking engagements and stuff like that just because of that interview with Frank [Recchia] and News 12 and everything's been going really well for me, and I got a lot of positive things going on,” he said.
The NFL, which still provides help to former players like him, reached out after seeing the News 12 Connecticut story and congratulated him on his continuing recovery.
