Fourth Avenue transforming into busier thoroughfare
Now more than ever, more condos, stores, offices and other large developments are popping up on one of Brooklyn's most essential thoroughfares.
While some residents are upset that the new developments are driving up real estate prices on Fourth Avenue, store owners say business hasn't been better.
"More and more people coming to Fourth, it's kind of like that little spot where you have the staples, you have the park next door," says Sotiria Stavropoulos, owner of Ume Ume Music and Arts.
Other residents say they don't mind some of the larger buildings that are being put up on Fourth Avenue, just as long as local businesses remain on the streets.
"More condos means more people living here, means more foot traffic," Stavropoulos says.
