Friends of a well-known skater who passed away last weekend are pleading for answers surrounding the circumstances of his death.
The medical examiner’s office had not yet ruled on a cause in the death of 32-year-old Curtis Valentine.
Friends say they believe trouble may have a started at Head Too Heavy art gallery on Bushwick Avenue, where they believe he was knocked out by someone and was hit while on the ground.
They say that someone walked Valentine back to his apartment after the alleged incident. He was then discovered by his roommate the following evening.
Head Too Heavy posted a message of support on their Instagram page, saying "Curtis was a dear friend for many years … We are doing everything we can to help bring him justice."
The gallery added that they do not have video cameras inside the gallery, but they also say the alleged altercation did not happen inside.
The NYPD and the gallery are seeking footage or witnesses of the incident.
News 12 Brooklyn attempted to contact the gallery, but received no response to email and phone correspondence. Friends say the gallery has been closed since the incident occurred.
Valentine's friends are seeking closure in the case, as he cannot be laid to rest for a proper funeral until the autopsy is completed.
