An East Flatbush restaurant is adding its own flair to classic Italian dishes.
"What we have done is added a Caribbean flavor to penne pasta and titled it Rasta Pasta," says regional manager of Footprints Cafe Linden Clarke.
The sauce is made with parmesan cheese, heavy cream and a secret blend of Caribbean spices.
Chef Basil Jones concocted the recipe nearly two decades ago, bridging his European culinary training with his Jamaican upbringing.
