Police say a Bronx man is behind bars after he attempted to kidnap a young girl in broad daylight.
Good Samaritans saw the scary scene and jumped in to save her.
People near the corner of Beasley Avenue and East Tremont Avenue say they heard a grandmother screaming “help.”
Surveillance video shows a man wrapped in a comforter walk up to a 3-year-old girl with her grandmother and snatch her.
The man takes off running as the grandmother tried to run after them. Fortunately, the good Samaritans ran after the man and saved the little girl. The suspect then walked off.
Police identified that man as 27-year-old Santiago Salcedo. He was taken into custody at the 45th Precinct Monday night, visibly smiling as he was taken away.

Fortunately, police say the young girl was not hurt. Salcedo was charged with attempted kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment and acting in a manner dangerous to a minor under the age of 17.
