Here are some local stories making headlines on this Monday.
News 12 is following reports of an overnight shooting in Poughkeepsie. It happened around midnight on Smith Street where a 15-year-old boy was shot in the arm. There is no word yet on the severity of his injuries or a motive.
A porch collapse happened in Sullivan County. Sources say it happened on Pine Tree Road in Rock Hill and someone is apparently trapped. News 12 is working to get more information on any injuries and what caused the collapse.
The Port Chester community is mourning the loss of former Mayor Dennis Pilla. He served four terms as Port Chester's mayor. Pilla was first elected to Port Chester public office as a village trustee back in 2006. He has also held many other government leadership positions. Pilla was a graduate of New Rochelle Academy as well as Fordham University. News 12 is told he died peacefully on July 8. He was 60 years old.
