A Hempstead man was sentenced Friday for allegedly murdering his mother, sister and a family friend.
Bobby Vanderhall admitted to the attack and was sentenced to 50 years to life in prison.
Prosecutors say the 39-year-old man went after his mother Lynn, his sister Melissa and his sister's friend Janet Simpson with a hammer and knife in August 2017.
They say a fourth victim was also attacked but managed to escape.
