A Bay Shore man says he a group of men quickly stole his BMW early this morning at the BP gas station in Syosset.
Tom Fasano, of Bay Shore, says he was on his way to work and stopped at the BP gas station located on South Oyster Bay Road by the Long Island Expressway around 4:30 a.m.
That is when Fasano says he noticed there were some people in a white Range Rover hanging around the gas pumps.
Fasano decided to go inside the gas station to pay. That is when his 2011 black BMW was taken.
“I looked just to see what pump I was at and they took my car. It was a minute, minute and a half tops,” says Fasano.
Fasano says his car was running and his phone was inside the car at the time. Fasano also says his gas gauge is broken in his car, and he had about 10 miles left until empty.
Nassau County police say 350 vehicles have been stolen so far this year.
Officials are warning drivers not to leave anything valuable in their car and to take your key fob with you. They also warn not to leave your car unattended.
