Residents in the Jewish community of Homecrest are angry after a swastika was found spray-painted on the side of a home last week.
Police say the swastika was found on the home of doctor Jacques Doueck. Doueck and elected officials denounced the apparent hate crime, saying the symbol is most offensive and hurtful. Officials are calling for more police patrols in the area. A $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
Doctor Doueck says despite being a relatively safe area, there have been crimes in recent years that keep residents on guard. Police say they are taking the matter seriously, adding that an investigation led by the hate crimes unit is underway.
