The NYC Winter Lantern Festival lights up 20 acres on the grounds of the Nassau County Museum of Art in Roslyn.
Visitors can see larger than life lantern sculptures of bugs, flower fields, safari animals and an underwater scene.
"We had over 100 artisans pre-make all of the lanterns in China,” says  Haokun Liu, of the NYC Winter Lantern Festival. “We used containers to ship it from China to U.S., and then we invite 12 artisans to do on site installation.”
The experience takes about 20 to 30 minutes. It also includes projection mapping and plenty of beautiful lights.
"We are not only bringing Chinese product here, we are bringing the way Chinese people celebrate Lantern Festival, we are creating a carnival experience,” Liu says.
The installation will be on display through Jan. 9.
