Moldy walls and sporadic electricity are a few problems some Bensonhurst tenants say they face every day.
Residents at 8201 Bay Parkway complain that feces and sewage back up in their units due to broken pipes. They also say there's no heat and broken outlets force them to use extension cords, creating a fire hazard. Tenants say they are concerned about their health and feel their pleas for help to city housing officials and the building's owner, Sam Kestenbaum, have been ignored.
News 12 Brooklyn visited a tenant who had similar complaints weeks ago. Zelda Mikhles says while the leak in her apartment was fixed, she's still waiting for the mold to be cleaned up.
