Legendary Lundy's restaurant closes its doors in Sheepshead Bay
Lundy?s restaurant in Sheepshead Bay has closed its doors, much to the dismay of customers who called it a favorite. The restaurant originally opened its doors in 1907 before moving to its waterfront location on Emmons and Ocean Ave. Lundy?s has occupied its waterfront property for decades, making itself a reputation for clam chowders and fish dinners.Officials say Lundy?s is a landmark, so it is unlikely the building will be torn down. Sheepshead Bay Improvement President Steve Barrison says the Lundy?s landlord supports a plan to bring the franchise, Legal Seafoods restaurant to the location. Fans of Lundy?s say it doesn?t matter which restaurant moves in to the business, they will never be able to replace the memories made at the legendary restaurant.
