A man assaulted a dollar store employee during an attempted robbery in Brooklyn, according to police.
It happened at the Family Dollar store on Atlantic Avenue on Friday.
Police say the man held the clerk up at gunpoint and demanded money from the store safe.
They say the employee refused, and the suspect began beating him before running away.
Police say the store employee is expected to be OK.
