A jury has found Shaquan Taylor guilty of murder for beating his 16-month-old daughter to death on Father's Day 2017.

News 12 cameras were not allowed in the courtroom, but family members of the little girl, Nylah Lewis, said the day was emotional and included shouting matches and a physical fight outside the courtroom.

Lewis' family said there was no question that Taylor killed his daughter, saying that he never wanted to be a father.

Taylor was also accused of attacking the girl's mother after she tried to get help for the child.

A spokesperson for the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office says Taylor will be back in court within the next couple of weeks for sentencing.
